Looking beautiful!

Want to look your best? Living Beautifully Free mission is about taking control of our health, which leads to healthy beautiful looking skin.

Each day our body is bombarded with toxins from the food we eat, by the body products we use, even by the air we breathe.

Our skin, being our largest organ has the capacity to absorb the chemicals and toxins added to our everyday beauty products. Products such as; lotion, shampoo, shaving cream, and soaps. These are toxins that accumulate in our body making us look older then we really are.

To limit the intake of toxins, we must be aware that what we place on our body is just as important as what we put inside our body. By switching to home made products, you can have control of exactly what is going into your system and ensure that only safe ingredients touch your skin.

Our skin, being our largest organ, has the capacity to protect us, age us, or make us look youthful and vibrant. By switching to home made products, you can have control of how your skin reflects the true you. Everyone’s’ skin is unique. And just when you think you know your skin, your own skin needs can change on you. This happens as you age or modify your life style. By creating your own products you have control in providing exactly what your skin uniquely needs.

Diet – Is a four letter word

Dieting can be a very stressful activity. And well, since this whole website is about being healthy. Stress just does not fit into this message.

Eating a healthy diet is vital to you being healthy, looking your best, and feeling great! Because of this, there is no getting around the fact, that you need to be thoughtful about what you feed your body. But, this does not mean that you must deprive yourself. With a little accurate information on what is really healthy and some super easy practices, you can move to a healthier diet without feeling like you are sacraficing.

A great way to get started is to visit a local farmers market. There you will find loads of local and in season, healthy fruits and vegetable to fill your frig and cabinets. I feel that it is not about letting go of certain food items, as much as it is about adding new healthy choices into your diet. Try to pick something new each week and try out a new recipe. soon, unhealthy choices will be edged out.

I love this quick and easy snack:

two spoonfuls of organic coconut oil
Celtic sea salt
garlic spice
Preheat oven to 450 degrees
Place all ingredients in a ziplock and plastic bag.
Shake vigorously, until the coconut oil is well distributed.
Spread out over a cookie sheet lined with foil or baking paper.
cook until crisp, about 12 minutes. YUM!

Another great tip- When ever I have extra fruit or vegis, I blend them with a little coconut water and freeze the liquid in ice cube trays for later use in smoothies.

Finding Balance can help you look your best!

Looking good has a lot to do with how we feel and how we think. We have the choice every day whether we want to be happy or angry. We really do! When we allow negative thoughts and behaviors to take over our life, we are choosing to not be happy. I want to choose happiness, don’t you? No matter what the circumstances are, being happy helps. When we choose to be angry or bitter, this emotion shows up not only in our behaviors, but also on our face. One way to look youthful is to place a smile on your face. Another beauty stealer is stress. To look our best, we need to better manage the stress in our lives. Stress can  fatigue our body and age our appearance. On the other hand, having a smile on our face adds radiance.

Now I understand, this is much easier said then done. With the many tasksbath_lemon_combined
and responsibilities we feel we must complete every day, taking time
for ourselves can often take a backseat.

Here I share some quick and easy recipes to help you stay
healthy, as well as some healthy practices that can fit into even
the busiest schedules.

Start your day with a positive affirmation. Tell yourself how special you are. (Because you are!) Write in your journal on being grateful for all you have.

Set a positive goal for the day. This can be- I will remember to smile, I will eat a healthy lunch, I will drink 2 more glasses of water today, or I will practice my breathing 2Xs today.

Spend some time outside. The sun, fresh air, and contact with nature is known to lift spirits.

Move. Moving helps create endorphins- happiness endorphins. Taking a walk or joining a yoga class will do the trick.

Start your day with some lemon water. Lemon cleanses the system
and is a great way to kick start your morning. Just add 1/3 of a lemon to a coffee mug size cup of water. I add apple cider vinegar and cayenne pepper, and some raw honey. This concoction has kept me from catching colds through several seasons.

Another ingredient you can add to make a quick drink, that is a perfect way to start a busy day, is macca. The macca root is known to add vitality. Just mix with water or a nut milk. I like to add a bit of cinnamon or molasses for added a richer flavor.

Choosing to live without chemicals

Beauty Products you can easily make at home

1. First, you need to do some research. You will want to ensure that you use only safe and healthful ingredients. Be a label reader. Don’t be fooled by labels that say “All natural”. Check the list of ingredients to be sure this is true.

2. Second, you will need to stock your cabinets and shelves with healthy alternatives. You will also need to purchase some handy helpful tools to assist you as you make your own beauty products at home. (I will help you with this.)

3. Third, have fun. This can be an exciting experience that you can do solo or it can be shared with friends. I love trying out new recipes on my own, but I also love having the girls over for a beauty product party. We make luxurious products that we then get to enjoy. There may even be wine or mojitos involved!
I am here to assist you on your journey to using healthy and safe alternatives. But, I am in no way an expert. Sharing what works for you, as well as sharing new recipes with each other, will help every person develop a complete packet of products and recipes that works best for your unique needs.

We are stronger as a team. Share what is working for you., any tricks you found, and reputable companies you trust. By sharing with each other, we can build a tool box od defenses against the toxins attacking our bodies and start to feel our Groovy Selves!

Living Beautifully Free is about
taking control of our health

One way to do this, is by adding more movement into our lives. But, here’s the good news! Your movement doesn’t have to be running a marathon or lifting wieghts at a gym, movement is just that moving. This can be in the garden, taking a yoga class, walking the dog, or taking a hike. Our bodies were never designed to sit behind a desk or a computer all day. If you have a job that requires you to sit most of the day, you need to add movement through out your day. Take a walk around your office, step outside, get up to get that extra bottle of water you promised yourself you would drink, or touch your toes.

Even some desk stretching will help with your circulation and get those thinking juices moving! Stretching will release tension helping you release tension and be more productive.

Chest Opener

This is a great stretch for any one who sits at a desk or works on a computer most of the day.

  1. Stand in a door way, 2. place your arms straight out to your sides grasping the sides of the door way. 3. Holding the door way, lean as far forward as you can, feeling a noice stretch across your chest. If it feels good, lean your head backwards. Your co-workers may look at your strangely at first but, once they try this stretch, you will be their hero!
