Beauty Oils
Oils can be a wonderful compliment to your daily beauty routine. In the past, oils have received a bad rap with reports of oils clogging your pores. But, the correct oil for your skin & hair type can be one of your best beauty friend. Here’s a list to help you find the right oil for your personal beauty regimen:
Jojoba Oil: Colorless and odorless, excellent for all skin types. Contains vitamin E, proteins, and minerals. It’s structure is similar to sebum, binding with it to help remove dirt, grease, and grime from skin.
Virgin Olive Oil: Light yellow with a slightly green smell. It has unsaturated fats which are moisturizing to the skin and hair. Can be heavy.
Sweet Almond: Pale yellow and sweet smelling. This is a very light oil containing unsaturated fats, vitamins A, B, E, & D. Use caution, if you have any nut allergies.
Mustard Oil: Deep yellow and pungent smelling. This oil is very warming and used medicinally in Ayurvedic practice. It’s warming effects help stimulate circulation. Use this oil with caution. Sensitive skin may react to it’s warming effects.
Sunflower Oil: Golden yellow with a lightly sweet nutty scent. Contains unsaturated fatty acids and vitamins A, B, D, & E. Great for dry skin.
Sesame Oil: Golden yellow with a nutty aroma. Rich in vitamin E, iron, and phosphorus . Can irritate sensitive skin.
Coconut Oil: White with a faint sweet scent. Most coconut oils are highly refined and as such it’s nutrients have been destroyed. But this oil is still moisturizing. Can irritate sensitive skin.
